Just get a Resolve V.10.1.3 with a Titan. Even better with two Titans. Full resolution real time transcode for dailies. No RRX needed.
Here is the playback of Epic material I'm getting on my updated 5.1 MacPro with 12C.
I know the question was about dragon, but it's not too bad for Epic playback on a 4 year old Mac.

D300s are not going to cut it. You'll want D700s min. Consider a Rocket-X card even so if you are really going to stick your nose deep into a 6k RAW workflow in Resolve.

The older towers with quad modern GPUs actually do better.
