It was reported about a month ago that Adobe had a huge update rolling out today that would include Dragon support as well as many new SG features and more. However the update never came... Has anyone heard anything from Adobe?

Kevin Monahan at Adobe says:
Hi Benjamin,

Here's what I have, "We are busy at work on the video tools we discussed with over 150 new features expected to ship shortly. We will update you on availability."

Thanks,
Kevin

I hope they get it out today or give a new date that is close. Im hoping for the mercury debayer engine!

That's wonderful...:nonod:

I believe it will come very soon. Otherwise they would give an new date.

They probably got distracted when they lost all our credit card information to hackers lol

lol yuuuup

Man this CC thing is kind of ruining Adobe in the minds of many. Missing scheduled updates is not winning them back any customers.... Come on Adobe!

Incremental updates, in my opinion, are certainly better than a yearly thing. Most of CC seems pretty impressive so far. It's easy, and its always up to date, and stuff syncs just fine.

Where are these customers going that they need to be won back?

Many have gone to FCPX. That's a fact and well documented at that. You can find numerous threads on here about the issue.

Not sure Reduser represents the post industry as a whole. Still many cutting on Avid Media Composer (some not even on version 6 yet), many still holding out with FCP 7, Adobe has many diehards who have been there all along and probably added a lot more when CS 6 was released. FCP X is growing and who knows what kind of market share it will eventually end up with but I still don't come across feature film editors or TV shows editing on it. But I know that's starting to happen and maybe will gain some momentum if Apple plays it right, especially with the new Mac Pro on the horizon.

Adobe made some bold moves. They have caught some slack for it. I think there is still a year of seeing how it goes before totally judging this decision. Kind of like how it has taken a while for FCP X to evolve. People wanted to bury it alive. Now it's getting some traction.

I wasn't naming professional post houses here. They are mainly using FCP 7 or Avid so Premiere isn't even in their pipeline. Adobe relies on the individual shooter/editor to purchase their products.

This simply isn't true anymore. The big houses use pretty much all three. I know I've helped a few switch over to Adobe pipelines as well. However, right now Premiere Pro is the market leader by a fairly large margin. Until Avid or Apple provide a similar rounded feature set I see this more and more as a growing trend.

I know what I prefer to use from a day to day standpoint. To each their own though.

Have to admit, though I didn't like the CC idea at first, I'm coming around after using it. That said, I'm no longer a loyalist and will quickly change to something else that offers more value, in the future.

But one thing in their favor is their early recognition of the need to integrate a workflow with RED footage.

Any word on this yet? Adobe?

Adobe is making very interesting headway on many fronts with the broadcasters who need more than just an editing seat to create content. How these all converge over time will be key. Several broadcasters have PPro in editorial, Adobe Anywhere will have some impact as will. But as someone who has been looking at the interactive side of television since 2000, what they are doing with "TV Everywhere" is what broadcasters are looking for beyond the creation of a program as customer stickiness turns into dollars down the road.

I have a CC subscription, and access to the web tools has allowed me to expand brand and other related assets as needed for a project or customer. Even if it is for your own website.

Strange, I was sure adobe was going to say something if it was this long overdue. Perhaps its better to do apple style and shut up until its ready. But persenal i would miss the transparancy. Openess is a good key to happy costumers.

i was gonna buy Adobe CC then realized max 2 user limit on each license..Why you call it cloud computing if there is 2 user limit?

How many users do you normally expect to get for each user license?
