What do you do with your extra lens mounts?

Aside from the bulky case from Red, I am looking for an option for my Canon/PL mounts. What does everyone else do as far as storing their extra mount when not in use? Do you put a plate on the back for protection?

When packing real light in say a padded camera bag, I use zip lock bags or a small microfiber pouch.

I like the idea of the Pelican 1040, but it may be a bit large. I think I will just create a plate back and recut the foam in a Redmote case.
