Sure. Lance Acord is directing a few of the latest ones for Park Pictures (his company). Also look for directors from Green Dot, Biscuit.

It's a relatively safe bet that they are shooting on Alexas.

Those are beautiful, beautiful commercials, and the graphics work and editing makes them work exceptionally well.

I suspect the camera and lens aren't nearly as important as the people using them.

Thanks, Nate. I'd seen that Lance Acord and Chivo Lubezki had been working on some of them. Makes sense that they're hiring the cinematographers as directors on these - very visually driven pieces. I hadn't heard of Green Dot before - I'll look into them. They do feel Alexa. Still curious about the lenses - they're sharp but they feel natural. They way the lenses hold the light and the camerawork makes it feel like documentary but very manicured and articulate.

Chivo Lubezki's work on Gravity was absolutely first-rate. He's one of the top guys out there today, and again it shows that it's not so much about the lenses and cameras; it's about the artistry and lighting choices of the cinematographer. I suspect he could use a $999 DSLR and still get terrific images.
