Hi All,
I picked up a couple of the daylight 10"x10" Flex panels and am very happy with them. They don't have the noticeable green tint that so many of the LED's do, and they punch above their weight given size and portability.
I've found myself doing a lot more travel run and gun stuff this year, and not having to fuss with Gels would be an advantage as long as the new instrument's color is good.
I've used a fair bit of brands and I'm looking to avoid two fairly common problems. The aforementioned green (or magenta) tint, and an inadequate low end kelvin temp.
Specifically several of the panels I've worked with market themselves as 3000k or 2800k panels but they really come in closer to 3250-3400 so they don't blend well with tungsten practicals.
Also the tungsten panels seem to always have a bit more of a tint to them than the daylight panels.
I'd also be interested in opinions regarding the scrimjim thing that's available for the newer panels.
I'm hoping for feedback from folks who have used the Bicolor Flexes as that would be ideal if they don't suffer for the above problems.
Thanks for your feedback
