  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Welcome Kyle to the RED ASYLUM...

That's why I love the states. You can post pics of workmates with guns and every body is cheering. Here in Switzerland your company would get a bad name in a second. You would be consindered as a ultra rightwing company.
Altough the avarage swiss guy has about 3 guns at home including his fullautomatic SIG 90 armyrifle.

Its nice to see that you guys dont take it that seriously.

Tim, I think the RED corporate culture stems from Jim's maternal roots... "Laissez Les Bon Temps Roulez"

I know this is going to make me the sandbag for today, But I feel I need to bring this up to the surface for the simple reason that I like what RED has going on (Besides the frat boy stuff).

As adults, could someone please enlighten me what's so cool with products intended to kill people and how that fits together with a camera company?

The RED brand is looking more and more like "Guns & Babes".

Curran, FWIW, have all the fun you want! Great job of extracting Kyle, by the way.

Is that really the Sony building? I bet 90% of the people working there don't know one another.

The movie industry is quite often depicting people killing each other... haven't you noticed? Hence RED is right on point being a camera company and showing weapons that kill... lol. Next time perhaps someone can do a depiction of Gunnery Sergeant Carlos Hathcock with a .50 caliber machine gun being used as a sniper rifle in Vietnam.

Hey dont get me wrong. I like the RED attitude a lot.
RED is like a special forces unit. Every member has his own special skill set and contributes to the succes of the mission.
They will fight till the end. Those pictures symbolise that.

It's never about the guns, it's all about team. But the guns make it more fun, I know.

Believe me, I have a lot of experience with special forces :whistling:

Cheers

Tim, just for clarification, I was mainly responding to your statement "Its nice to see that you guys dont take it that seriously."

You guys have special forces in Switzerland? What were you... like a guard at the Vatican or something:biggrin:

(Just joking... don't lock and load on me:innocent:)

I think Switzerland has fought more wars than most countries I have knowledge of! Perhaps there is a reason they are neutral?

That honor would probably go to Japan. I think the last war Switzerland had was a civil war in 1847.

So, you're sayin' they have a poor won-lost record?

(P.S. Acehole, welcome back...)

Not if you ask the roman empire..

Cheers!

So, why isn't everyone in Rome speaking Swiss now? hmmmm???? (Except for the guards at the Vatican, of course)

Weapons that kill children, women and american soldiers for example? Unless you like the thought of that, your post doesn't make any sense. These things are not made to look cool in movies, these things are made to kill people not companies. Making smart choices kills other companies.

Last time I check RED wasn't in the movie business per se, because they don't make movies, they supply hardware. Hardware that could be used for medical, commercial or other businesses outside of the "movie business".
