Early days I know but as I've gone for the Weapon CF 8K upgrade I'm already looking at lens choices. I'm absolutely no expert in this larger format area so any opinions or guesses from the pros would be interesting.

I also want to start investing in compatible lenses now.

Ideas?

I think the Canon cine-primes cover the sensor. And every FF lens for still cameras will cover it. But there are a few cine-lenses that do it, especially new ones.

Stay tuned. I'm going to explore and test "everything".

But if you're curious I have sets of several series of prime lenses designed for VV and beyond. Some of those have been used on VistaVision before :)

Leica R's, Voightlanders, Hassel's

Zeiss CP2 ,Schneider-Kreuznach Xenon FF-Prime Lenses,Zeiss Compact Zoom CZ2,GL optics 70-200,Nikon AIS,Canon FD,Canon Cine Primes,Zeiss ZF etc

Leica R's
I'm not really good at figuring the image circle of a lens but I would be stoked if my set of Leica R could cover VV.
DO we have any info regarding mount option?
Can we expect a Canon mount, even a dumb one for VV or is that impossible for technical reasons?

On the Duclos website it states that the CP2s has a 35mm coverage area. In his review Duclos states the Leica Summicron- C cover 35- 36mm. If people feel that the CP2s will cover the VV sensor surely the Leica Summicrons will to. No one has mentioned that these cover the VV sensor and I was wondering if people had just overlooked them?

What about new arri master anamorphics which I am using for my current project ?
i also ordered for 8k sensor upgrade I am hoping I will be benefitted to use the full 2x capability of the lens?
any idea on that?

I've read that Leica-R's have very generous 35FF coverage, so I wouldn't be surprised at all if they covered. If I can jerry-rig one onto my view camera, I can figure out the exact IC's of my Summiluxes. Also, I'm about to order a Nikon 14-24mm from a German dude that fits a Tilt/Shit mount to Sony E mount. Amazingly, you can get 8mm of movement @ 14mm on the zoom with a 35FF sensor. I'm betting this zoom (which is crazy good) will totally cover VV.

And yeah, Medium Format glass for sure, the Leica-S glass would be a dream!

At 2.4 aspect ratio it should get full height. For width It will be a bit less wide then the current dragon width while at max height(current dragon it starts to vignette in the corner on full sensor ... Close to 4 AR). I will be testing the plx1.4 next month, so will have a good idea then how wide it can go at full height.

I personally would love to see a Mamiya 645 mount for it.
I am sure thats a mount option planed for the future.

Arri Master Primes

Arri Master Primes

I'm new here and will be getting the Weapon soon. Two of them to be exact. I really want to invest in the best set of prime lenses I can use between the two but don't want to risk it until I know what's going on. As it stands now, Arri master primes starting at 25mm and up work on the dragon sensor at full 6k. I would rather have the very best glass and stay on the dragon but if there is a chance of Arri/Zeiss upgrading their master prime lineup to FF then I would prefer to upgrade to the FF 8k sensor. Hopefully I'm making sense. I just don't want to back myself into a corner with a set of master primes costing nearly $200k. Any thoughts on this catch 22 situation???
