Sitting on the Tarmac...delayed, so here goes a little...

One of the interesting things is, in stealth mode, i.e. The word Weapon not on the camera, people do not realize it is NOT an epic or dragon. I had a pa who spent the last 5 days with us help me with my luggage and I asked him what he thought of the weapon and he looked at me in a very confused manner. I said, what camera did u think we used on the Steadicam? And he said epic dragon. I took it out of my carry on and said, guess again sucka....and he was blown away, but had no idea. Score one for not drawing attention to a rare gem!

If you own a weapon or use a weapon on set, you MUST buy Fool Control! It is a life saver. Particularly for a run and gun shoot w no VTR but with a client. The thumbnail view is unreal for quick access to the last 20 clips. Setup is easy and quick! And u literally have full control. Very important when u can't see a monitor but you need to watch exposure. Another unreal feature is the Auto-Black Balance. When it kicked In the first time Crash and I looked at each other and exchanged non G-rated words in unison. Operationally, when u calibrate, the camera goes thru each potential shutter and frame rate. Once it is captured it will automatically load the proper Cal when u change either the frame rate or shutter! The auto cal takes about 30 mins...but well worth it, I suggest you calibrate at prep once the camera is up to temp. The "E" in the "T/E" indicator turns red when u change the shutter or frame rate, but the 30 seconds or less later....it goes freakin GREEN....unbelievable.

Oh man. That Auto Black Balance is going to be a huge time saver for a lot of people. Can not wait.

The auto-cal re-load time is about 7 seconds and will update with exposure and temperature changes.

Carbon, but my bet is that the electronic are the same, makes no sense that they would be different!

Sounds great! Does it prompt you at all or just do it? Does the auto also cover timelapse and long exposures or would that need to be a separate calibration?
