Weapon boot up time

Not sure if this has been asked before but I am experiencing way longer boot up times compared to epic dragon. Could this be caused by using/loading the auto black shading maps? Can the boot time be shortened with some trick e.g. Not using auto calibrate ?

Yeah I'm at like 45sec. They've said they're trying to improve that.

Wow that is terrible news. I thought for sure boot up time would be better on weapon. Can anyone else chime in and let me know if they will for sure be improving this or not. Might cancel my order and stick with dragon if not.

Red needs to mention these downgrades in their product descriptions. I know this does not really affect you Hollywood guys, but for us run and gun, conserve in battery guys, just won't work out very well.

@Daniel .... They did the same with epic when optimising the software ... Sure they will do it ! I also thought i dont need this but weapon is way beyond epic dragon ... You wouldnt change once you tried also if you dont need proress ...

What firmware version are you running? Boot times have been significantly improved for weapon in the 6.2.x beta. See Jarred's announcement post: DSMC Beta Build v6.2.3 - This is a good one.

Back in the days DSMC1 brains took for ever to boot compared to today's boot times plus the jet engine fans

Epic boot time was around 8 seconds in September 2011 on V 1.6 You could not play any images back which saved even more time. Extra features seems to involve longer boot times.

Yeah, Weapon takes a super long time to boot. Feels like RED One after shooting Epic for so long

Bummer and strange because my bomb squad rep just told me weapon has 22sec boot up time on latest build.

Guess I will go with the flow and hope they improve upon the 40sec.

I was already surprised the first time I boot up my Red Weapon, it was quite long but they will improve it i guess.

Latest BETA firmware 6.2.25 on the WEAPON is 22.7 seconds to boot up.

Fye : I changed from auto calibration map to one user calibration map and boot up time improved significantly to 0:30 ! Big smiles !!! I am doing another auto calibration right now (after upgrading the firmware) to see if it goes back to a longer boot time ... Will let you guys know when completet ..
