  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Weapon 8K + Hawk 65 Anamorphics

That's just a standard Oconnor 2575... The Weapon is just a small camera. But STILL that mount is WIDER than the whole Weapon body!

Dear lord. What amazing imagery.

"Natural sharpness" is exactly right. You can't fake sharpness, it has to be there innately. But apart from that, everything just looks so damned good. Now, about those lenses. How much? :-)

Oh, and I take back everything negative I said about anamorphic. I'm in love again.

Slightly off the topic, I think that widescreen works better for drama than for action. I say that because a lot of productions will be shot in 1.85:1 because they are dramas, but I think they really should go for the wider aspect. I think it suits productions where the camera doesn't move around so much. 1.85 is arguably better suited to action films.

I'd be very surprised if anyone really would choose any other digital camera than the RED for high end work. Seriously, the RED is cheaper, smaller, and more flexible. Everyone at RED should congratulate themselves for a superb product.

EDIT: I think I have a new favourite lens manufacturer.

Holy SHIT that mount is HUGE!

What battery mount is that?

I can't take it anymore! Gimme my 8K now!!!! ...or something like that.

<Jeff is now examining the 8K upgrade queue thread and copying every name on the list ahead of his into a file called HitList2016. Also saving it only to his iPhone so the FBI can't touch it.>

<waits for Jeff to finish list, then will visit Jeff>
