  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Way too much fun...

Several pertinent announcements at NAB... several surprises.

Jim

Hey Jim, I'm writing my scripts, I can't wait to film them! Thank you for the updates, I appreciate it.
I'll be there Monday morning at NAB to hear what you've got to announce!

Jim,

Thanks for making sure the workflow is as smooth as possible. I didn't reserve during the first window because I had bought an HVX200 and editing the MXF files were a real problem at the time. I didn't want to run into similar problems with another new system. By the time the second window opened up, REDCINE sounded like it was working pretty well. So, I took the plunge and sent in my deposit. So very glad I did.

Those who are realistic should not be disappointed.

Jim

I'm quite realistic - for a puppet - should I be worried?

"I Don't Like Mondays"

"I Don't Like Mondays"

"I Don't Like Mondays" were singing Bob Geldof with The Boomtown Rats in 1979. One of my favorite songs. "I will post prices on Monday." (Jim started with this tread). But maybe only that Monday I will like. Could be a great announcement and there could be a real affordable prices for the RED ONE™ accessories and of course for the camera but with a price that is a bit higher from the reservation. And also could see extra announcement about absolutely fantastic 4K>2K>HD workfow with the RED ONE™. About shipping schedule I do not care so much. No rush.

Just imagine that 14 months ago we decided to do a 4K camera from ground zero. We needed to finish a sensor design, get it fabbed, do the industrial design, develop REDCODE, REDCINE, do the boards, develop an accessory program, and get this all together to produce an image, workflow and program that revolutionizes the industry with a core group of a handful of people. Impossible is the most beautiful word in the English language.

Jim
Yup, Jim. That's an unprecedented, absolutely stunning engineering accomplishment. Everyone said it couldn't be done, because up until now, it hasn't been done. I never for a moment underestimated the technical challanges of such an ambitious project. The progress you and your team have achieved in that short of a timeline is nothing short of amazing.

I can’t help it but this is such a striking similarity in terms of what RED team is doing with what Burt Rutan (X Prize winner) and Richard Branson (Virgin group) are up to. And I was thinking that camera technology is not a rocket science:-)

Finally solid details will start to emerge! The veil starts lifting on Monday. This is the moment we've been waiting for more than year.

My condolences to the NON-believers. Let's see how they cope with reality after NAB.

> I expect that serial #1 will be assembled around April 12th.

And this will be shown at NAB? If the exhibits are April 16-19, that's not a lot of time for test & debug.

What do you think we are doing now with Boris, Natasha and the others?
