A theater here in Brooklyn is making bank with an old idea.
They serve dinner in the theater. During a 30-minute pre-show of short films, you write your order on a little card, slip it into a wire holder, and a waitress ducks between rows of wide, very comfy seats.
They lobbied the New York powers-that-be and actually changed an old law on the books: you can now enjoy alcohol in theaters, provided the establishment served it to you. With speciality drinks and food themed to each film, lines that start 45 minutes before each screening, and great staff... Nitehawk is making a killing.
