Quick question...we currently have a few redvolts that came with our 2 epic x...but unfortunately there is no way for us to use them as the side handle has been on back order for an eternity and the battery module is not yet available. We've had them for almost two and half months which means they will be out of warranty in 2-3 weeks (90days)...at this rate I don't expect a to get our side handles or battery modules until February (and that's being optimistic)...what happens if by some unfortunate event we find out that one or more are defective (once we're finally able to use them...) and the 90 days have already gone and past?

Likewise - !
I have had my Bomb and Red Station patiently sitting in their boxes since August - and await my Scarlet...

I've been wondering as well. Buncha RED parts sitting on my desk waiting to be plugged into a Scarlet.

So I heard back from my rep who reiterated the official RED policy which is 90 days from the date of delivery, regardless of use.

If you bought on some credit cards, you may get to double warranty if an issue.

I'm not happy for you, but just a thought if there's an issue.

I'm surprised, in lieu of all the delivery delays that they would take such a hard line. Can't see how it can affect an accessory product sitting in a box when its obvious (by their own records) we have no camera to attach to them. I ordered my BOMB - for my Scarlet - a _year_ ago, knowing there would be a delay. It arrived in August. And no Scarlet yet. Which I am cool with. But I would expect RED to step up and honor a warranty that should start ticking from the day the camera arrives. Would be interested in their perspective from the lads at the Top of the Red foodchain...

The other way of looking at it is that RED has no idea what you do with the product once you receive it. You could rent it out to fifty productions and then it becomes defective, even if you don't have a personal camera in the meantime. I had SSDs before I had received my EPIC, and had them available for rental.

My five cents..

Test the equipment together with somebody else's gear. Then if it works then you should not worry. They will not break sitting around in the original packaging. However like a lot of electronics there are a lot of faults that shows up (if they show up) on first startup. I think red is very reasonable with their warranties, had problems with a SSD, and a touch screen, both where replaced with not much fuss. Other suppliers we work with does things differently so I think you will find RED to be on your side.
