Before I shoot I let the Dragon warm up for a good 10 minutes or so.. to check it's warm I leave cap on lens or body and select exposure tool. Once the entire screen is purple I know the sensor is warm.

Question- as shown in this pic, there's still a few black dots on the left side of monitor that don't seem to turn purple . . Would this be something to worry about? Do I need to change temperature settings or something?

Also I've never Black shaded as I have a battle tested dragon and I don't want to play around with something that I'm sure Red did right, but seeing as though I'm shooting in Australia in different climate should I black shade? I'm not shooting in extreme temps or high frame rates yet..

Thanks

Owen

Black shade at that temperature.

Then E the yellow T. Should be green. Usually I let the camera get to about 60 degrees before a blackshading. Then when it's up to temp there are never any yellow T or E in the temp settings.

Get used to black shading as its a common practice. Plus different black shading is required for different frame rates. Luckily you can store the different maps to quickly switch them when needed.

Yes learn it. And make a set of them so you have a good spread for the exposure times you tend to use the most.

I got the following set on ours:

1/100
1/50
1/12
1/2

And you need to do it on every upgrade anyway.

Owen, how is after the BS?

I just got back from shoot.. I BS and the image looks amazing so that's the main thing. I will check in morning with the body cap on though and see if any black dots show through the purple. .
I also checked and had the latest firmware so that's good.
