  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

@Vincent

Cool to have you on this board and that you are so active in sharing your experience.

Having followed you somewhat from a distance on your blog and other places, I appreciate your sincerity and honest desire to help other photographers and film makers.

Still a hobbyist, the Epic is a bit out of reach for the moment, but I'm still glad, for me, that you got one. I'm sure you will become a sober voice in the community surrounding RED.

I wish you plenty of happy Epic-shooting!

The latest Epic blog and footage on your site "HDRx and 5K" was incredible - one of the best I've read on the new camera. It's linked on the thread "owners" http://reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?59617-Owners.../page4. Maybe throw a link here too so nobody misses it. You've set a new bar for the other owners for posting footage I think :)

I beta tested the new stabilizer in CS5.5 for a few months before the release and I agree with you as to how good it is. It's good to see a strong advocate such as yourself for Adobe's CS5.5 suite. I love it.

Thanks/Merci Steve! CS5 is only going to get more powerful... couldn't agree w/ you more!

Thanks Neil very much!!!

Pleasure, Vincent .... come over and see us as soon as you're ready to grade your EPIC footage.

Your timelapse sequences with the EPIC over cranking look stunning ... really looking forward to seeing where you take EPIC imagery.

Cheers,
Neil

The fellowship that this forum has is truly amazing. It is like a daily class taught by the best Ph.D's of shooters in the world. This is a global cast, and really is pleasure to be on the sideline to just absorb the content. Keep up the great work.

Will do - want to get a bit more of it in the can first to take true advantage of the opportunity!

Good to hear that the mount can be changed in the field. I use a Canon EF 400mm f2.8 L IS USM lens and am happy to hear that the Canon super tele lenses will hold up well when used with the Epic. By any chance have you tested or got an idea as to how the new canon glass will work with the Epic (the new version 2 super teles and the 70-200 f2.8 L IS II USM). With wildlife as my focus area, lowering the weight is the key for me.

Cheers,

The longer Canon glass works really well with EPIC. No issues.

every lens you put on has its own calibration, including the different versions of each lens ( 70-200mm V1 and 70-200mm V2 ) and the camera senses that as soon as you put the lens on.

Hey Jarred

So the lens protocols are pretty much done. What about the Redmote Pro then.
We are soooo looking forward to this thing.
I own all L-lenses from 14mm to 200mm.
To be able to control the lenses via a remote FF would be the greatest thing since ahhh the RED one ; )

Any Infos about that one?

Thanks
Tim

Thanks Jim!

Glad to hear that I will be able to use my Canon superteles. I can clearly see that my life will change.
