  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

vimeo vs. youtube?

...and IF your content is popular enough - and there is enough people worth the damn decency to seed - you'll have a FREE and FAST download service - all without having to do much, if any, legwork :)

Torrents are localized, and would require many local users to have the content and have a P2P app open pointing to it.

Another trick is upload your reel to an ftp.

But... How about exposureroom.com ? I do like it.

What do you mean localized? It takes just one user with a complete source to seed the content, but if you got more users in a swarm, it gets faster and more reliable.

Works like a charm.

If you are talking about seeders being localized, then yes. But... that's the case of any upload/download where you don't have multiple servers running in multiple datacenters across the world. It's not so that the swarm won't work for you if you are halfway across the world from whoever is seeding - it just won't be as fast as a local seed would've been. An FTP server certainly won't be faster if it's located in Denmark and you suddenly try to download it from USA - it'll still crawl agonizingly slowly towards a stand still; just as any torrent would.

...and my whole point, if you would take care to note, was that if your content was POPULAR you would have earned a practically near-free download service that is pretty damn decent - hence the entire point is moot as by that point you would have enough local users seeding (unless you have the misfortune to live in some small mountain village somewhere). Of course, despite all this, I certainly'd'nt put my reel in a torrent - that would seem far too shady, even if it was legit :)

We opened Youtube account for KETCH ROSSi STUDiOS but immediately followed Joseph Hutson suggestion not to post anything relative to real Epic Footage there, so after just few Behind the scenes stuff I will not post there,
but have a Vimeo Plus account as well and only use it for posting footage, but when starting to post delicate material and material that can be re-used at will I would only post on our web site, just safer that way.

FOR TESTING I UTILIZE YOUTUBE 4K , CONVERT 4K PRORESS 4444 TO F4V 4K (is 200mb for 30 second ) with adobe media encoder 5 , when i use ORIGINAL setting with my 30" apple cinema the difference is big... in plasma 50" the difference is small but always better than the sequence to 1080p.
Redone mx 18-50 zoom.

has anyone tried to load in 4K on youtube?
some setting for best encode to 4k ?
