Any one having still hope that View Factor will deliver the Wireless FF any time soon in the next 3 years?

I don't even remember how many years since i have made a full payment.

If you people have any news please update.

Thank You

VF credit = APU

VF credit = APU

Confirm with VF but yes, if, like me, you gave Curt your funds back in the day he will allow you to use that credit toward other products they vend.

My Epic is now FMJ top and bottom with the APU plate on the back - works a charm.

Still very interested in the wireless FF and, yes I know we've all heard it before, it looks like he may finally get those out by NAB 2012.

Why do I actually believe that? Because he has worked out just about every possible issue by now and, like the last tumbler falling into place, as soon as he gets the last couple of things sorted it should rock. In fact, I expect it will be far better than originally specced as some of the solutions were also improvements.

Flame me if you must...

Cheers - #19

The problem is that every time Curt is saying something that thing is not happening. I don't understand how is it possible to miss every possible deadline.

** 11/14/11: Working on code - substantial updates coming at the end of the month. but as usual no updates.

I like the amount of times the pictures been viewed on his blog... covers.jpg 2000 something views.... t

well said.
but i'm very interested in the system curt is working out :-)

The issue is not only lack of communication to clients that have paid in full but what about support when he does finally ship the FF!

Supporting no moving parts metal plates is one thing but supporting motors and controllers is another.
The guy doesn't reply to emails so what happens when you're knee deep in it and your FF craps out?

***The story I can never find is what was the deal with the old system that you can see the demo videos for... why did that never make it to market?***
We had no equipment going into this endeavor. Everything was being manufactured in China and the parts turned out terrible. We dumped the entire design after shipping 50 units.

I'm doing the best I can. I won't be making the mistake of putting a date on paper ever again until I have a completed product in my hands.

I have sent Curt too many emails to count without any reply. I think he is toast.
I apologize but I get lots of email every day and try to reply to most. There are some emails that slip through the cracks and unfortunately prospective customers looking for the follow focus system are last to get my attention. We need to deliver to systems existing customers before taking on new ones.

Can I really use my old deposit for motors and FF towards the new Epic gear???
Yes. Just shoot us an email @ info@viewfactor.net and tell us what you want to apply towards your credit.

We are doing our best to fix our customer service. We are having an engineer starting in a few weeks and I expect that to make things run a little smoother. I agree that moving parts are much trickier than simple plates - that's why it takes time to completely redesign and bring a focus motor to market. By the way Rory, I think its only fair that you should let people know that you did receive your refund.

Hi Curt

I have no problems reporting that I received a refund. I was reluctant for one as I wanted the product I had paid for in full but your lack of communication of what is going on and years of waiting left confidence at a low. I don't think you realise just how big a deal it is to get people to hand over cash in full on a product that is still a 3D model. Getting all that capital upfront is quite something and not to be sneezed at, nor is the loyal customer base that believed in you and backed you. Even the ones that requested a refund after years of waiting.

I don't feel its about having a finished product before you announce a date, If you just took the time to deliver an update when you say you would things would be a lot more smoother for your customers who have invested in your project by paying for a product in full up front many years ago. Even with me getting a refund years later I still follow your progress on the Follow Focus as I need one for my cameras and I like your design.

I'd really like to see the ViewFactor Wireless FF come to market. I'd be the first to place a new order but I must say your lack of following through on what you say you'll do is very unnerving. Its frustrating being in the dark and seeing other products being launched.

Your first product announcement was the Mirus in 2007... where has that gone too? Its now 2012 which is 5 years later. Dude what gives?

Business isn't easy and making products is a hard task. But being an open communicator doesn't cost a thing and is priceless for customer trust.

I'm still interested in getting Mirus #10. I even still have "RED / VFS MoCo" listed in my email signature from 5 years ago....

Well said, Rory.

And I'm still #11... I wonder where that dream sits in the scheme of things.

I appreciate the feedback and I fully understand how big a deal it was for our customers to put money into our product like they did. I agree that I could do better on the updates and I'll do my best to keep you guys in the loop going forward. As for Mirus... it was put on the back burner until after the follow focus systems were complete. It is the next project after the FF systems ship.

Thank you for your reply

I think it is very important to speak to people, no matter what the problems are.

Being in total darkness when you have payed for a product long time ago it is very frustrating.

By the way i was also very attracted to Mirus as well.

Thanks Rory and thanks Curt.

Now for some advice. I need to move on with a two or three motor wireless system that is affordable for the Red One. Please let me know what is hot and what is not. I will purchase immediately.

Cheers!

I can't help it.. But the pormised substantial update that we where to see late November, went and gone, and is now replaced two months laters with the exact same information as before. Thats communication folks! :)... I do hope you find that engineer dude Curt! LOL
