  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Vietnam's Second Feature Film Shot on RED Movie Trailer Released

Great camera work, beautiful trailer... Congratulations Tony.

Looks great...

Really nice man!!!

I think it's always great when you forget about the technology that was used to capture the story, and just enjoy the story!

Can't wait to see the movie.

I can't wait to see what the club scenes will look like colour corrected. Very nice stuff.

Beautiful footage. It looks incredibly professional.

But the pop music makes the whole thing feel silly. It looks like there are dramatic moments in your trailer, but the music completely undermined them. Just my opinion, but Alicia Keys should be reserved for "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 3".

Thanks Andrew. Much respect goes the focus puller who just nailed all those crazy moves shot after shot. When I was Action-camming, I remember wondering where the hell the 1st ac was...and he was in some corner behind the crowd working his magic hehe. For the whole shoot he pulled out his tape measure like only 3 or 4 times, no joke. Check out the slomo shot of the girl un=doing her hair..she walked REALLY far and he pulled it all the way. When he is not focus pulling he fixes air conditioners to make ends meet. =)

Looks great...

Thanks Jim.
The director would not have been able to tell his story the way he wanted without your camera. 35mm film would have pretty much taken the whole budget for the entire movie. By the way, I am flying back to Vietnam for my third feature to start on August 18th...technically the fourth one (there is another one shooting right now in Vietnam-thus ending my back to back streak hehe). I think the "shot on the RED" list will very long before the year ends. =)

It will get theatrical next year in Vietnam and will likely show at festivals in the US and in cities with large Vietnamese populations. I will keep you posted. This is one of the few films that is shot in modern Vietnam and is not war related.

Very nice Tonaci.
If this gets a proper colorgrading it will look killer.
Nice actioncam work. Brian would be proud of you :)
Cheers
Tim

Yeah no kidding. I can't wait to see this movie color graded. As for the Actioncam work, it was a blast.. I would not be an operator if it weren't for Brian's Actioncam because I would have been too intimidated by the price of a standard Steadicam rig.

The club's in Vietnam are really crazy out here. They spare no expense in lasers and sound. hehe

Thanks Corrado. The commercial you and I collaborated on will be released soon, I promise =)

Nice work, Tony!
Hey Brook! Thanks man. Wish you could see what film making is like in Vietnam. It's hardcore out here hehe.

hehe. I am with you on this.. a color corrected trailer with original soundtrack will come out.

Looks great. Makes me want to go to Vietnam... Reminds me a bit of Indonesia.

That looks like a serious love story, great camera work, and everything else

Great story! Tony, I really appreciate your response. The ultimate AC who works on ACs is a total bad ass and needs to be working on features all the time.

The focus pulls did blow me away. It did leave me scratching my head at how good they were as if it were effortless. Thank you again.

Wow, looks great!

Looks nice - I like love stories, but for me the trailer spoils a bit too much - I can well guess the whole story from the shots shown there - which you could also see as a compliment for the camera work, staging and non-verbal acting.
