He's talking about the field of view difference between Scarlet 2/3" vs. S16 at the same focal length.
But that doesn't change the measured width of the sensor or the sensor's recording area... ???

I don't understand what you are referring to here. The Scarlet 2/3" sensor is listed by RED as 10.35 mm wide (as implied in David's original comment).
Terry,
But doesn't the Scarlet have a look around (can it be recorded into)? So what is the area of the sensor that is actually recorded?
BTW, this same logic would mean to get an S16 FoV w/ look around would require using a sensor larger than S16--or being able to disable the look around.
Again, I also want the camera out ASAP. So suggesting a bump in sensor size probably runs extremely counter to that very goal. But I've also read estimates for Scarlet's release as being more than a few months away and don't know how much is locked down, etc., so I thought I'd throw this out there.
I think it's safe to assume that the interchangeable 2/3rd's Scarlet has been 86'd.
The AF100 and the F3 have upped the ante in sensor size. And Ted called this an Alpha camera that has not been fully engineered yet.
B4 lens compatibility is a moot point, as this is a fixed lens camera and I think it's safe to assume that the interchangeable 2/3rd's Scarlet has been 86'd.
