  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Hey Curt, thats understandable, those things happens to everyone, and I hope everything is went fine. Those things really put things on hold when your a small shop.

I hope we see some predictions on deliveries etc on Sunday. Things starts to get unbarable right now and I need to decide soon to if I need to jump the ship and choose another system, because I can't live without a FF forever.

Same goes for me too... This waiting game is becoming a bit too lengthy...
 
Same here.
Ordered and paid August `08 and have had to rent gear for 3 major productions since.
Rent money plus VF payment could have bought me nice, albeit 2nd-hand gear straight away. (Why VF didn´t say `we just don´t know, so please bear with us´ instead of pushing delivery promises over the span of 14 months remains a mystery to me).
I am not criticizing VFS´s product (I wish I had mine to be able to do so) but I have always liked RED´s openess about product development and realistic ETAs in comparison.

The Varizoom uses the same bits as the bartech as well.. the m-one motor is pretty badass..
 
Just letting you know that I have provided Mike Hastings with drawings and other information required to adapt RC Servos to drive lenses. I understand Mike will be offering an inexpensive wired and long range wire-less solution soon.
 
Hello. Just want to help out as well here to those who might want to use r/c style lens controls for their red until they get their unit from VF, I can give you full diagram and how to make this work for your lens, very inexpensive and workable . If you need this I can provide you with all info and some bracket designs that you can cut in water-jet, and have a unit to work with. Mind you I dont think this will be acceptable from big productions as they use to see top gear used, but it will be a relief for those who can use it in their own productions, so they dont have to rent expensive units.
You can write me at my privet mail and I can supply you with all tx/rx info and some autocad designs for the servo motor bracket, so you can do this nicely .

Working on getting the brackets and such made now.

Well it's monday now and no news at all from Curt. It seems to be one of his many, many broken promises again.
Isn't it about time for one the moderators to close this thread and to take care that persons like Curt not getting any chance to cheat innocent people?
