They are shipping, albeit very slowly. I have my unit.

Richard, thanks for the post.

It seems the only posts on here lately are from people that are just trying to be an a$$. Dunno, maybe they think that will make things go faster?

Curt could easily have just shipped us all the version that Richard has now and been done with it. But he wanted the motors to have a better ratio and be even quieter. I appreciate that he is taking the time to get it right. Even if it means some people who can't wait any longer may take their money back, and then come on here and complain about it....

You see it as complaining, but don't forget i personally left my money with VF for 18 months + before pulling it out, if someone were to ask me now if they should invest in a VF unit, my answer would be a plain NO. If my post maybe helps someone new to the forums make a better decision regarding sending a couple of thousand dollars into a VF black hole for an indefinite amount of time well then that's ok by me, my investment in VF gives me every right to post on this forum as often as i would like, and share my experiences, and i will continue to do so, in what i hope is a balanced and truthful manner. I thank you.

Ok, I see your point. I, myself, would tell them to wait for the backorders to be filled before investing. But I wouldn't give them a plain NO.

How many have shipped with motors 10 maybe 15?

My personal estimate is that they have shipped more than that.

I understand the frustration after all this waiting. I am not affiliated with Curt in any way but i support VF because i have held the FF in my hands and i know what all the waiting is for.

I hope he will make an update soon.

Respect.

Gentelmen, I too want the bugs to be worked out and to get a good working unit. I appreciate Curt and the gang's efforts to do this! I have never seen one but I hope it is everything I have been sold.

My issue is: VF told me I would have it a year ago when I payed in full for my system. None of my emails directly to VF have ever been answered. All the info I get is through the forums. Personally, I think everyone that has paid should be getting monthly email updates on what stage of development their product are in.

And I am tired of being told it will be 2-3 more weeks and all the reasons why.... It's been a few more weeks for a year, so how can I believe it? My/our only measure of any VF progress is, again this forum, and seeing posts of people receiving their systems. I have not seen much of that.

I would tell interisted buyers to wait until the systems are a reality and the backorders are done. Personally, If I see a good used FIZ before my VF shows up, I might pull the trigger.

Curt, I assume you are at IBC. What is the latest from VF?

We're on the Birger wait list and the thing that's worrying me is the possibility that all these broken promises will lead to (...) the end of support for something I have hopes for in the long term.

All customers that have purchased an Impero from Birger have been, and will continue to be, supported directly by Birger. Repair lead times have generally been one to two days.

Agree 100%

That's very comforting, thanks Erik. Have just been informed our Birger/Impero is shipping so I wait with baited breath.

I received my Impero unit. The features are great and the unit feels good. The plastics are obviously lighter duty than a bartech, preston, or arri but the controller is easier to handle than something larger like a bartech and its integration with auto lenses is fantastic. Imagine full FIZ controls for handheld but only having one motor on the lens. This configuration allows you to put the RED in a LOT of new configurations and places where you would normally need a larger head, remote head, jib, and so on. I think VF certainly has its place in the market, they just need more people to get their hands on the units (obviously). Other remote head and motion control companies are already looking to VF for integration into their systems because of the payload differences and the feature sets that they bring to the package.

Delays are ok, as long as you inform your customers about it.. Repeatedly writing, I'll be back next week with information, and then nothing for several weeks, and then act like nothing have happened is not ok...

Curt's a good guy...

But dear lord I am SO tired of this thread. Looking for one million ways to say "I'm pissed, WHERE IS IT ALREADY?!?!!?"

Jay

Not dissing anyone... I hope you understand what I mean.

Back off...

Back off...

WTF this pisses me off. What is it with you? You got you're refund didn't you? So why the F are you still nagging about that. Nag about everything else, but that is so low Leo.

Back off, Fredrik.

Firstly, if you narrowly escape quicksand, do you stay silent and watch others soldier on into it? In my view, you have an obligation, not just a right, to warn others of the danger. What kind of member of the Red camera community are you?

Until RedUser denies me the right to post the plain truth about VF, I am fully within my right and moral duty to report my experience with them.

I keep reading posts stating that Curt is a "good guy;" well, what's a good guy? Someone with an engaging personality? Perhaps, but what if he continually misleads you, do you still regard him as a good guy? I guess you do. I don't. Scoundrel comes to my mind. Even if he's a hapless, overly-optimistic scoundrel, the effect is the same on those who have paid in full and received only a string of broken promises.

Now, Fredrik, here's an idea; if you don't like my posts, don't read them.

Good shooting and best regards,

Leo

smoothie?

Smoothies are OK, but I believe most of history's best accomplishments have benefited from injections of caffeine. My guess is those riding the VF horse are indeed smoking something and in need of drink stronger than beer!

Thanks for tossing some light into a dark situation.

Good shooting and best regards,

Leo

20 more units going out at the end of the week. We had some problems with our order tracking when we went to the new server so we may have shipped a couple dozen units out of order. I apologize to those early orders that got bumped. We are taking care to make sure we ship orders out based on the date they were placed.

We have also been getting RMA units back to people that sent their motors back a couple months ago. All of this stuff takes time and I'm sorry we dont communicate as well as we should. It doesn't mean that we aren't working to get your order out. These parts for the cycloid drives take longer to make than I was hoping... about 1hr per motor on the CNC. Its a pain but at least we are making them and getting orders out.

We were giving dates to the best of our abilities and they slipped due to a number of reasons - some under our control, some not. We have a working product now and we are shipping units on a weekly basis. I wont give shipping dates again as that only leads to more claims of us being misleading and fraudulent if we miss them.. We will email customers a couple business days before their delivery to verify their order and address.

Leo, we must really have struck a nerve with you. We refunded you order months ago and yet you still have to remind us and everyone on a daily basis that we are struggling here. I always have and will continue to put all my heart into this product and will ship every order regardless of the criticism.
