  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

V-Mount Setup?

Either MG1 or VF are good battery plates or WC/Cinema Oxide. Personally, I like to save money and that's why I went with MG1. In the long run, its about quality, customer service and cost. As you all know this shit isn't cheap by any means for RED gear.

I wish I waited a little longer, looks like they now have a bundle package for Pro users. Nice

Does anyone have experience hot swapping with VF v-mount and redvolts? I'm aware that some plates don't swap to the side handle when a v mount is disconnected, rather the camera just shuts down. I'm pretty close to pulling the trigger on one

I think that is actually a camera issue. If your camera doesn't hot swap to the side handle and vice versa, you should call up RED. You can do a test by plugging in your AC power adaptor and the sidehandle and pulling one. My camera has never had an issue, but I know other people who have.

i heard its a side handle issue not the camera brain itself..(might be wrong also)
