I found this youTube video interesting about using the REDMOTE to change focus:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vz1WI0Pew0Q

However, the video is 3.5 years old and I'm currently using the 6.0.31 firmware with the REDMOTE 9.3.11 firmware.

The video is using the Rack focus mode, but unlike the video, the new software doesn't allow a Rack with only 1 Rack Point (although the manual on page 132 states 1-4 Focus Points).

It kind of works with the REDMOTE, but you bounce between the two points after you press enter on the REDMOTE.

The 'Single' mode kind of works. You have to select a point using the LCD screen, and then you can move it around with the REDMOTE, but after you've done that once, the REDMOTE starts controlling the menus not the Focus Point - so ... I'm sure there's a better workflow I"m overlooking?

Long time ago i did use the REDMOTE like a wireless Follow-Focus. I don't exactly know the steps (and don't have the camera on my side to check), but you mainly just select the focus-distance on it and then use the wheel to change focus. It's steppy, but might be useful in some cases.

I don't know why the camera was set to RACK in the that video, because moving around the af-point and triggering af should work in standard-af-mode too.

I really like to use the REDMOTE with a real RACK-FOCUS setup...

There was also an unreleased "REDmote Pro" which had a full-sized FF wheel and IZ controls (I think).... It never happened, though. Ultimately, I think the REDmote wireless connection used just wasn't up to the task, so they opted to create REDlink and opened it up to 3rd party development (like FoolControl). Kinda sucks having to buy more hardware AND software, rather than having an elegant/stream-lined/built-in solution, but I guess it all got sorted out with Weapon (though that costs a 10s of thousands more)... Obviously it woulda sucked more not having the modular/upgradable option.

Yeah man, the REDMOTE PRO... ;) I didn't want to bring that one up to not rub salt into old wounds. Still want it. There might be other solutions out there now, but nothing is looking as great as the REDMOTE PRO did.
