  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

So got my Scarlet today, was curios that in the system setting it showed as having 6 hours of use on the clock. Is that normal, do they get tested for that long before being sold.

At least you didn't wait as long as you thought.

Yes, that's a normal burn-in time. My Epic had approx 6 hours also.
 
Red performs several tests for quality control purposes that assure that you get a perfectly working camera. Normal.
 
Yeah, arrived today, soggy box with a hole in it, but it arrived.... Kind of makes you wonder what they do with your precious goods in transit....
But i am delighted, dying to get out and film, but caught my sons flu thing, so feeling grim.....

Well, at least least RED pack 'em well - there was endless amounts of paper packing in my first delivery & a large box for a small item inside (like a little gem in a mine) - LOL.

Just recovered from the flu myself... and still fell groggy after a week.

Anyway, have fun with the new camera. Best thing about it for me is the DR and highlight roll off on the MX. It might not be a super 'see in the dark' sensor, but I really like the way the image is built.
 
Yeah, i lost a SSD drive and Allen Key, which i think has come out the soggy hole, but stupidity itself, i signed for it, before checking the box!!!! Costly mistake....

What a PITA. Might be worth chasing FedEx anyway... it's very rare that any FedEx guy will stand & wait whilst you open & check a delivery.

Maybe a mail to RED too and see what can be done.

But, at least you have it now :)
 
It doesn't matter if you signed for it or not, if there are contents missing then Fedex will pay the claim. They have insurance for things like that. You need to contact RED and have them start a claim with fedex.
 
Yes I spoke with Red, not long after I opened the box, was really worried that the dampness might have damaged some of the other items, but they all seem fine, thankfully.....

everyone should have Andrew somewhere in their name, lol.
