  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Just upgraded my perfectly functioning Red from 20.0.2 to the latest 20.1.2 and have an LCD with a black picture with thin diagonal green lines running thru it.

Have tried-

01. Complete power down and disconnect>boot
02. Disconnect/Reconnect after boot up
03. Reinstalling SW

Still not working properly.

PLEASE HELP!!!

Same here... didn't have a lens on so thought it was normal. On black calibration the lines disappeared.

It's not a problem. Just go and uncheck the Zebra settings. I haven't got the camera with me so I can't describe in detail. The green lines are just Zebra lines for underexposure...

Kind of wild that they come up without the camera being initialized.

Diagonal stripes are Zebra

We just changed the camera default for Zebras to ON.

But if you want them to be OFF, go to the ZEBRAS menus, uncheck them and the camera will remember that setting .....

Why? Its just a default - takes less than 1 minute to turn it back off.

And if you turn it off it stays off across power cycles..

Done!!!! Thats it!!!! and it remembered it after I powered down and rebooted.

Zebras on Build 20

I always use Zebras, but it may just be me coming from the video world.

There are very good ideas from both disciplines - such as viewfinder look around area, false color exposure meters and highlight / shadow zebras.

I just dropped into this thread after seeing the title, thinking I had the same problem. But that isn't my problem (I read about the zebras being enabled by default in the readme so I knew where to go after the upgrade).

Here's my problem (not on my camera, on someone else's I'm shooting with on a movie):

The BACK LCD panel intermittently won't show any info on boot with build 20.1.2 and stays blank the whole time until I reboot the camera. then it usually comes on with no further issue.

Anyone else seen this with their cameras?

One note is that we are using the Birger mount, but this worked fine with build 20.0.2 so it's not my first guess as culprit, but you never know.... haven't had a chance to test PL mount yet on same camera as we're shooting until end of Sunday with Canon EF lenses.

One other thing I noticed on this client's camera, on taking the PL mount off to put on the Birger mount.... the /i pins were installed, BUT the pin connector was disconnected inside the mount itself!! Is Red shipping cameras this way or did Seika DI do this locally after trying to service the client's camera? The client hasn't ever touched the mount so they haven't done it....

Thanks,

Paul
