I agree with most points made about the film vs. digital shooting ratio off-topic mumbo jumbo conversation that developed here, and couldn't hold back. I just wanted to point out that everyone is right. We are simply looking at it from different angles as we are all developing from different sets of experiences... ultimately the goal is the same one, to become a great filmmaker. Right?
If you want a good project you need to know what you want. Without a vision you at best will waste bug bucks shooting slow or overshooting, regardless of the medium.
Anyway, I guess my point is that film does add pressure on you to figure things out before hand, but if you don't get that on your own then shooting film can't make you a better filmmaker.
