Underworld Rise of the Lycan looked crappy

Just watched Underworld Rise of the Lycan yesterday.


Does anybody know if it was shot Digital or Film?

It was noisy in the blues and darks some shots were just flat out BAD.

I hope it was not RED but it kinda looked like it or under exposed RED footage.

Who knows anything about the film?

Hmmm... I don't know anything about the film first hand, but IMDB says it was shot on a combination of Genesis and Red One.

From what I've heard RED was only used for VFX and reshoots, not primary footage.

If a studio release looks "crappy" it's not the fault of the equipment that was used, it's the fault of those who used it. The Genesis, Red, D21, Viper, F23, F35 - all of these devices are capable of producing excellent images. If the images you looked at were less than excellent, blame the shooter or the production conditions, or even the decisions made in post, not the camera.

I believe it was Genesis for the overwhelming majority of shots, see my thread on the matter wherein others chimed in
