Heh heh heh.

Some of us are pretty sure we know what it is, too...

Is everyone too lazy to watch the news report?

My whole point was that since it apparently "re occurs" that if we had 5K footage to analyze, the ufo will be easier to debunk... ;)

EDIT: I personally think this one is a remote control craft as they move very fast and could most easily pull this of. Its probably closer than it appears
and since its at the SAME TIME every day... he has a collaborator in the hoax.

if anything you should convince someone to shoot it in 1k at higher frame rates...

I will be in Denver In DEC.. It will be much Colder then and If those things have Jets, They will leave trails. By then anyone with a Fs700 at 1000 fps should be able to Catch it even at the Lower REs

it really isn't that complicated to figure out, despite the new reporters saying "Not a bug" it most likely is a bug.
Small Sensor + Brightly scene = small aperture = virtually infinite DOF
Any object (i.e. dust, debris, birds, and insects) at any distance from the camera will be in focus.
There is no way to gauge the distance of the objects in question from the camera.

If a bug or a bird is flying across the field of view and the turns and flies toward the camera it gives the illusion of rapid deceleration and hovering.

This should explain why most UFO footage comes from small low performance video cameras.

On second thought I think everyone there is just baked...I know I would be 247

The pic I posted is from the Air Force flyover before the Denver Broncos game on September 23. The little UFO-like object there is a piece of crap that got on the lens of my GH2. My RED was also shooting and it's perfectly clean. I identified the little dusty, hairy piece of filth and cleaned it away with extreme prejudice. To the left of it, it looks smudged, but it's actually caused by some fine hair that was coming off it -- you can see it clearly in a 100% crop of the image, defocused but clear enough. But as Todd points out above, small cameras love to create anomalous footage like this.

IMO, I think the so-called expert in the news story is way off... Looks like a typical insect to me...

It's snowing today, so not much flying around other than real aircraft. The way the news is playing this up, and only one local station doing it, I think it's irresponsible journalism and just plain stupid.

USAF. Can you even imagine what they have now that we don't know about?

You'd think our government is from a different planet...

New forum rules:

No religion, no politics and no UFOs :-)

uh this IS a religious post... I think whats clear from all of this is...Jeff Kilgore WAS flying that thing... is an alien and his posts are clearly a COVER UP! ;)

I mean have you seen his Avatar? I rest my case...

Most UFO sightings are in fact either hoax, wrongly identifying an object in the air, USAF testing, or occasionally exactly what the name says - unidentified flying object, which sometimes means the door is open to the possibility that it's not of this earth. In my opinion there have only been a few credible cases that pointed to an alien spacecraft. The one in Ohio that involved several members of the police force, 911 dispatch, and the USAF comes to mind. Many, many witnesses. Aliens? Who knows, but certainly a bizarre series of events in the sky that night.

If anyone ever gets a chance you should visit Nellis Air Force Base, a.k.a Area 51. They have moved a lot of their top secret operations elsewhere, but it's a fun take. I got touched down on by a USAF jet near Groom Lake Road, which I was informed is something they do to have fun with tourists in that area. There's a lot that has and probably still does go on out in that dessert. Some of which we probably don't want to know about. Jeff or someone could probably correct me, but I think Aurora was developed at Nellis and has a "UFO" like flying pattern, in that it can change directions very quickly. One guy I met out there said this was often reported as a UFO.

Anyway...UFO talk can be fun. More so than some of the ugliness that has surfaced around here lately . :-)

Just looks like someone flying a properly fast RC delta. I see a view much like this on the way to where I fly if one of the guys has got something rapid in the air. If you're not in that hobby you've likely never seen how unbelievable those things can be. As safety officer at my club I know we've caused UFO reports, reports of full size 'crashes' etc etc from the uninformed public.

This video is from 2009, but the planes are getting smaller, faster and cheaper all the time ;)
Very logical explanation after watching your video. Damn those things are fast. Wish I had one when I was a kid. I know what my son is getting for his birthday in a few years. :-)

Look it up on the MUFON Sites. Usually Actual reports are given by multiple Accounts, Those Are the Most Credible. UFOs are in Fact a Very Real Phenomenon. What they Are is Unknown to the Common Person. Are they ETs Visitors from another Dimension, Demons, there are endless Theories..
