  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I agree 100%.

It just seems though from the way things have gone that Apple pulls the the strings in this department. I just hope that apple does not control Red as much as it appears to.

Not sure what would happen first if we tried to "control" RED - Jim running me over with his truck, Jarred shooting me with any of the various firearms, or Deanan erasing all electronic traces of me worldwide...

A company saying they will "control RED" is sort of like saying you're going to tame a supernova...

FOUR DAYS.. This means (Allah and Jim willing) that we should be looking at an SDK around TUESDAY..

So far no bad news from RED.. The dreaded:

Sorry we're going to miss the SDK deadline, or even worse: It's not going to be as open as we had thought...

I STILL have faith

I am sure they are working their asses off.

I don't care if it 4 days or 20 days from now. I just has to be solid. I'll expect an SDK when I see a RedLine build with proper audio extraction.

I think it is kinda silly to think you can hold SOFTWARE to a "deadline". Pretty damn hard to estimate and predict the time it takes to find and fix bugs and enable features. I consider myself pretty damn good with logistics, having been a production manager and line producer for over a decade before I started Offhollywood - and there are TWO things even I will tell you are HIGHLY LIKELY to not make target dates. Software and construction.

And Jay ... I did get a sneak peak at something coming at IBC on the "hardware side" that will make MAC the no-brainer for Red workflows -:devil:
 
That's your choice of words, not mine. If Jim wants to throw out a deadline for the SDK, I'm not going to call him silly for doing it.

Instead, I'm gonna be excited!

If bad news is coming, I'll take it when it gets here.
