Hello folks I am having little trouble and i would love your input. recently i got used Oconnor CFF1 form 1AC and IATSE600 member. I was told unit is in excellent shape , no issues at all. well i received it and its far form good. well i was told that i am incompetent and that i dont understand how Follow Focus works and therefor he wont be accepting returns. After 2 tecks, one rental, several colleagues, gave me opinion that is in sync with my impressions of this FF unit, seller is still saying same old thing: This is just fine and i wont take returns due to buyers remorse...

please take a look at the video and tell me your opinion, if you have you bought this FF advertised as "excellent condition" and if you received this, would you return it? would you feel bad for asking your money back?
thanks

Yes the missing screw and thread on the gear box make it not possible to put the gear arm on that side. Not the end of the world but sure, if it said excellent condition it´s simply false. Some setups would demand the arm to go on that side and well then it´s not functioning.
So if you paid for it and though you would get a fully working one then thats not right. I would contact PayPal and show them the film and a copy of his ad and they will lock money on his account until this is settled.

But also just my opinion. It´s an old Oconnor FF those usually looks something like that, to me they got way more lose bits than whats optimal. Sure it´s nice to be able to configure your FF but O´connor made it configurable to a degree that there is som many screws and bits that can go broke or missing that I was actually scared every time I opened the box that something would be missing. And when assembled its a bit difficult to put it together so there is zero play in the gear box, trough the extension arms and the rest. Simply I think the Arri stuff beats it by far in that regard.

Thanks Bjorn for your input. 10 years ago i had Willytec that was not complete as the system and that was main reason i sold ti. since then i was looking for one but it never happened. When Occonor made CFF1 i rented it and i really like it. IMO Willytec was just to complex and CFF1 good take on it. i still like it and i think its well made. now back to this unit in question if i knew the condition i would never ever go for it, regardless of how inexpensive or "good deal" it was. over all shape is really poor. I have old Arri FF2 at work and that is from 80's and its in way better shape then this CFF1. Seller hid that form me and that is not cool. again i was, and still am willing to cover the shipping and basically loose 100+$ on this transaction just in order to get my money back. worst come to worst i will loose 500$ and sale it for parts. thanks
