  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Trost Slider GROUP BUY - limited time

What do you like about the magnetic stops? The fact that you get a warning before you hit the end?

Not essentially a warning but it gives you feathering to the end of your shots. Rather than sometimes hitting the end mark with a hard contact, the magnets ease you in to the end of shot.
The optional moving magnetic marker makes sure that you hit your end mark each time without a bump at the end.
It means you can focus your eyes on the subject rather than looking down at your end mark to make sure you don't get a nasty hard stop.

Well, the TROST Motion Sliders are in there... Some were... Can't wait to share with guys what we'll be filming on it on DRAGON M8, around Venice Italy, some time using it simply rested on top of Bridge's edge... (Very Carefully)... Plus we'll share a Video Review aside form the "Making Of" from this short, in 4K btw, so plenty of detail to be seen even on th eMaking of and Video Reviews... ;)

Next the TROST sliders will go on to a Fashion shoot and on the Snow... ;)

Now that is a brilliant idea!

Here is a link from CineGear 2010 to a different slider (Silent Cat) that features the magnets.
As far as I know, they were the first to bring this innovation to the market.

Totally different price point from the Trost so I hope nobody objects to my posting the link…
Don't know if there are any proprietary rights assigned - worth researching.

Exciting, thanks Ketch (and very nice packing job...)

I'm staying at the LVH (Hilton) right next door to the Hall. Hit me up if you want to have an invite only session - the room isn't real big but we could toss one of the mattresses out the window I suppose

Thanks for the generous offer, Zeb. That might work out really well. I'll follow up with you on PM.

I thought I'd give a quick recap of where things stand, and highlight some of the tremendous support we've received here.

First off, we're working on building up more sliders:

Here's Joey putting the finishing touches on a 50cm axis:

We've worked with Johnny Friday to develop a prototype 2m model to go with him on some IMAX jobs. Here's Jed displaying it proudly as it gets ready to ship out:

Meanwhile, lots of good feedback regarding mounting options. D. Fuller provided a nice summary of current 3rd party mounting options right here.

And Jason Osterday wrote up an incredibly thorough and informative post on some crazy bowl and Mitchell options.

Speaking of Mitchell support, Brian Kobylarz has lent us a very nice collection of Mitchell mounts and risers to look at:

Evin Grant flagged the fact that there's some play in the quick release mount when you center-mount the slider on a single tripod. We're working on this actively and yesterday we got to see an improved quick release collar that Derek has designed.

Last but not least, Ketch Rossi has shared a mysterious image of a slider packed away in preparation for a trip. That looks promising!

There were many other contributions - apologies if I haven't listed yours here.

That's it for now, and we look forward to seeing you at NAB if you're there.

I have to say, its impressive how much TROST is listening to their customers. It's exciting to think how GOOD this slider will keep getting with GABE and his team constantly tweaking/modifying it to be as GOOD as it can be. Says a lot about TROST as a BRAND. Good luck at NAB guys!!!

Hello Gabe,
I tried to order from your website but all of your sliders are already sold out.
Currently I'm located in Seoul, Korea but will ll be in LA in early April and then visit NAB between 7-10 / Apr.
Is there any chance to buy any slider during my visit to The States?
It's not easy for me to cross the Pacific ocean all the time.
In Gabe we TROST.

Yes, we should have a small quantity back in stock early/mid April. If you sign up for the waiting list on our web site, we'll notify you as soon as they're ready.

Great, Gabe
Already on the waiting list.
I believe you gonna bring some of your dolly to NAB.
After that, will you going to leave the dolly in Vegas or bringing back to your place?

I'm not sure I understand - I'll follow up on PM.
