So this pic was taken on the set on the next Transformers movie. This pretty much confirms the camera's use on the film. I wonder if Bay will be mixing it with film like he did for Pain and Gain.

Yes the movie is being shot on a mixture of cameras.

Have you seen previews for the new tv series The Last Ship that he is Executive Producing? It's being shot on Epics. There's a couple BTS of him operating it on the set. Apparently his other show Black Sails is shot on RED as well.

I'm excited for this to come to Chicago.

I've heard Bay is using prototype IMAX digital cameras as the main ones. There was even a mention of it in one of recent Bay's interview.

you are so right, peter. I wouldn't mind working on a transformers set, though :D

Hi Sandro

Yep, me too :-)

I once heard that Michael Bay: "If something doesn't help the story you have to get rid of it!"
In his case that means to blow it up in slow motion from 8 different angles

Cheers

Peter

The New IMAX Digital 3D cameras will be used in the Seminal scenes of the film He said, and He will make sue of other "Digital cameras" ( it seems the word RED EPIC gives allergy to some... Use of Film cameras was also mentioned.

Seems Michael Bay, will be also the first to use the new IMAX 3D digital cameras.

Yea I had actually seen the Digital 3D IMAX camera, but chose not to comment on it, as to me a company the caliber of IMAX in this day an age that design a FIXED (with extremely limited movement) is simply pointless, I'll stay with RED EPIC all day long thanks, and that is why Michael Bay has chosen not to use them alone in the Transformers 4, smart move, very smart move on his part.

Of course they'll have their place and use, and it will be great I am sure, it is IMAX after all, but it is not a camera for me thanks, doesn't even begin to scratch the surface of covering my shooting needs for any given project I have been prepping for future Productions.

couldnt pay me enough to work on a bay set...

FACT

Yeah, I've heard only horrible things. (And I'm a huge fan of him as a director.) I'm surprised crew members here are so enthusiastic about working with him.

That's because they haven't an idea about the man Bay is...
