  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Trailer For "Deadfall Trail"

After looking at the picture you posted of the vamp girls with the RED I was immediately thinking it was going to be a vampire flick. I started watching the trailer and was thinking to myself, okay any minute these guys are going to be attacked out of the blue by vampires or they were vampire hunters of some sort. I was thinking a new Dusk Til' Dawn. Well, the vampires obviously never showed up although I thought the performances looked pretty good and the story looks interesting. Any chance you could throw vampires in this story, hehe:-) J/K, great work!

Nice stuff and keep us informed when/where its screening etc.

Hey Whatcha,

I know Tari Segal, she DP's for one of my friends a lot. Looks like she did a great job on Deadfall.

I think I may have to bug her to use my kit once I get it!

I'm not entirely certain what all went into it. We're partnered with an editing facility called Copper Post here in Phoenix. I believe they did the coloring using Color, but I may very well be wrong.

That's kind of a tricky question. We really didn't tool around with the settings in camera much. The color and everything is a post deal.

we shot on 2 RED's

RED 18-50mm
Zeiss Ultra Primes T1.9 (50mm & 85mm)
2x Extender
Angenieux HR 25-250mm T3.5

We did use COLOR.

We end up using the most recent workflow that allows .r3d's in COLOR natively. It worked out pretty well. We had some problems with rendering handles, and the return process back to FCP, but we at least got it to work for this promo. We are still editing the film right now. We are hoping for a mid March finish date.
