  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

So if it is Scarlet-F will we just be required to place a deposit to get in line or pay in full?

If Scarlet ships this week my bank account will be drained in a matter of moments....not to mention my ability to sleep until it arrives, might just vanish.


Though he did say a no excuse system was coming......I wonder what tonight is about......Jim and his not so subtle hints.....or is it?

How big is it? Is it Scarlet big? I thought the prime time down there was December. Maybe it's from the Red Tsunami coming!

Remember Jim's first thread titled 'changes'. He quoted his signature line 'Everything in life changes, including camera specs and delivery dates'.

We all know EPIC is about to ship this week, so that leaves a change in the spec of the shipping EPIC-X. This week is a milestone for Red, and I don't think they would want to detract from it by announcing a new product. Only my opinion, but my bet is a last minute modification or addition to EPIC. :-p

It is a milestone, but that is well known already. I do agree it could be a modification/change to the Epic.

I don't agree it would detract from RED at all by announcing another product. In fact if they announced a Scarlet or other products It would be great! There are alot of Scarlet customers who are supporting the X program, but they themselves can't afford to shoot. If RED could take over two markets at the same time with Scarlet and Epic that would be an even larger accomplishment. If thats what it ends up being. I just feel like the Scarlet is something that is just as much been in the works as the Epic, obviously Epic with greater importance, but the Scarlet will completely dominate the sub 10-15K market, and maybe even re-invent the wheel in that area as they have in Pro level cameras.

While I have my doubts its the Scarlet, I think that will be one of there bigger announcements of the year since it's been in development for a long time as well. Either we all know it will change everything for the better.
