Here's a little timelapse video of some of the footage I have been getting for the past 7 months all shot on the 5D2. I have some RED timelapse but I'm saving it for the next reel. The Yosemite stuff is kind of thanks to Tom Lowe to getting me out to Yosemite to shoot some stuff. What an awesome location. The video is also in 1080p and is shot with Canon and Zeiss ZF glass.

Lovely stuff Andrew. Fell in love with Yosemite years ago, but haven't had the opportunity to go back since. Half Dome is amazing.

Those Yosemite shots were the first time I had been up to Glacier Point and it was pretty amazing up there. Well worth the drive. I'm looking forward to going back up there when I have the time. There are still a couple shots I want to get out there.

Awesome, dude! A couple of those shots are real masterpieces!

I bet few people would have guessed what that shot down on Yosemite Valley was if the next shot had not revealed it. The shot above Getty was awesome, with all those cross-veins of traffic. Also, several of the very wide shots of LA worked brilliantly.

It's easy to mistake moon rises for sunrises during long exposure time lapse. At least that's what I thought it was.

Yeah moon rise can easily be mistaken for sun rise during those long exposure shots. I find it funny when people ask how did I get the stars to show up during the day.

Yeah that shot shooting almost straight down from Glacier Point was a bit of a trip to watch. I had my camera dangling over the edge with the tripod gaffer taped to the railing. The shot that comes after that when it runs a little longer you can see people climbing at night up the cliffs. Crazy night climbers.

it takes like 3 days for a lot of those guys to get up rocks like El Cap.

Not climbing El Cap before my back went is one of the greatest regrets I have in life.
Beautiful footage man, if I am allowed be critical, and *gasp* this is for Tom as well, obviously we are only seeing snippets of all the footage but be careful not to go overboard in the final cut with the astro timelapses, they are amazing looking visually, but subconsciously seeing too much of them doesn't work for a lot of people, or keep them well spaced out.
But keep rocking and blowing our minds, the footage is stunning!

This is why I like doing shots of the cities and the stars. Its always nice to do something different. Plus there's all kinds of things that go on that look cool in timelapse. The fire timelapse I got last year turned out really cool. There's always something new to show people if you want to.

Well El Cap is crazy. I need to get some shots of that next time I'm out there...hopefully soon.

On our MX camera, we did a cool tilt-up shot connecting the dots of about 5 different climber groups on El Cap until we reached some guys right at the top. Took me about 10 tries to nail it.

What did you think was going on?

Yeah at first I thought it was just a sunrise. But then I noticed the stars. And my brain didn't want to acknowledge it had made a mistake so the first thing that jumped into my head was "Grad filter?" but reason kicked in and reminded the stupid half of my brain that a grad filter would make the sky and the stars darker in the same proportions and that had I never remembered seeing stars with my eyes during a sunrise. :D

I'm glad I could give your brain a jog around the block of reason.
