Hello

I shot a project on RED in raw only. I exported prores files, from the raw, in redcine x pro. We took the prores files into premiere for the edit. At picture lock, we exported an XML for reslove. I'm now trying to import the .r3d files, by ignoring file extensions, for the replacement of the .mov files on the timeline to color grade the project.

While doing this, I'm getting this error message for every clip.

Clip 'A020_C268_1006M6.mov' in track V1 at timecode 00;00, with reel name '' and filename 'A020_C268_1006M6.mov':
No overlap between specified target timecodes [16:28:03;14 16:28:23;24) and located file timecodes [02:06:05:05 02:06:25:15)

I have done a round trip edit in the past with no issues. I don't know why this is happening and how to fix it. Can anyone help? thx!

Software:
Premiere CC 2018
Davinci Reslove Studio 14

"16:28:23;24" would indicate 29.97 drop-frame. Did you use that for the project?

I would suspect an issue with the ProRes files that were made, possibly with the source timecode.

I also think that there's a problem with the Prores files, since here:

Clip 'A020_C268_1006M6.mov' in track V1 at timecode 00;00, with reel name '' and filename 'A020_C268_1006M6.mov':
You should have a full timecode instead of "00;00"

In had problems with roundtrip with R3D many times... I share with you 2 tips than normally help me when i have this problems.

You can try to import the Davinci the Prores files, import the XML wich will conform with the MOV files. Then, you delete all the media from the Media Bins of DaVinci, everything goes offline. Then, import the R3D files. For me, it work almost every time and it automatically relink the the R3D files.

Second option that sometimes works for me.... Impor the XML but no media, not before the XML and not while importing the XML. Everything is offline.
Then, import the R3D files to the Media Bin of DaVinci...

If you find out that the problem is within the MOV files, you can re export all the proxys correcty and then Relink the new files before exporting the XML from premiere. Cross fingers that everything stays in place!
