Well my friends. In three days it will be May 1st.. That means we'll be about 30 days from shipping EPIC Xs.

Normally I would not post something like this cause we've been here before, but I have reason to believe it may actually happen this time.

I would guess very soon now, we will begin to see some of the early Stage 2 people get an Email letting them know to "prepare" themselves for the upcoming shipments!

We'll also most likely be told what the EPIC stage 2 program now consists of..

Very exciting times! :w00t:

Hope so.

I just never expect things to go entirely as planned... in anything.

same here. :-)

(edit: I don't have a reservation for Epic, nor do I own a Red One or any other camera, so I'll have to wait for it to hit rental houses before I can put my hands on it. In the meantime, I shoot with whatever is available and right for the project and its budget. Again, needless to say - but you never know - the link is not an attack to Red, but it rather expresses an attitude I have towards MANY things, camera announcements included)

It did.. But Jim posted in recon a while back that he thought they could begin shipping in ernest in June.. Hence my reason to believe that perhaps things may be different now.

I hope I hope I hope

Actually I do have the same feeling. When I had to pay for the Red the euro was suddenly at an all time high against the dollar; right now it is very quickly going in the same direction! It's a sign. When the euro is 1.56 dollar again, the time has come

Well, you know the saying, Jay ... "Everything in life changes ... "

Guys.. I've decided to take a vacation for a while.. I'm outta here.

Keep fighting the good fight!

Jay
Where ya heading Jay? Bermuda, Aruba, Hawaii? Hopefully somewhere warm, with a good view.

Or did you mean a vacation from us crazy folks here on the forum. :-)

It's a forum vacation Steve.. Just need to clear my head and shut my "mouth" for a bit.
:)
Jay! Do you have that much self-control? News could break out any minute!

I don't get it. Why get all excited now? S&P just downgraded Japan's outlook to negative http://www.nytimes.com/2011/04/28/business/global/28yen.html?scp=9&sq=toyota%20recovery&st=cse. Toyota forecasts that they will not be back in full production until the end of the year. After so many delays and disappointments Jim is doing an amazing job of staying optimistic; he would love to have Epic production in full swing by June, but RED is just one of countless businesses looking for new suppliers of critical electronic and optical components.

But, I'll admit, standing at the end of the line for a Fixed Scarlet I may not feel the urgency of those waiting in the Epic line.

Pretty sure the 30 days is from the day the camera is ready, and that's how long you have to pay for it.
Don't let anything get you down Jay! Come back! We need your enthusiasm around here!
