  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Time Tank... 2 years later

I've been coveting this watch ever since I saw it two years ago :-).

$1000 though, eesh, there's a lot of pieces of gear I need to get first.

So, I think this goes at the top of the list of luxury splurge for when I get my first big success :-)
I always thought that the first 100 Red One serial numbers got one free as thanks from Jim? Can't be sure, I wasn't in the first 100 so I noted it as a nice gesture then forgot about it until now.

Anyway, the image looks great, seems to have a different feel to the original from two years ago, more rich and subtle in its tonality. I guess that sensor evolution aside, firmware, software and grading has matured as well so the output benefits from a host of ancillary factors. Can't wait to see an Epic X sensor image.... :)

Cheers,

Paul

heh i loved that job... i feel sorry for any of the people that stayed in a room that i (didn't) clean... but man it was a lot of fun....
I admire you my friend!

It does make part of JarRED Land's dvxuser legend where this whole craziness of RED was born, as matter of fact.

E. :-)

It was implied a while back, not by anyone official that I recall- still enough to make me feel really lucky. What officially was offered was a hat- never got that, but got countless of more useful things that was never originally offered.

For a long time, one of the only two images on the RED website was the watch, and I did grow attached to it, I know the idea was thrown around by users for a watch promo offer.

About a month ago I walked into an Oakley store in San Fransisco. I looked at a similar watch, the one they had behind the glass was silver. The one I recalled from the picture seemed to have a darker tone. It didn't match what I thought I remembered- so I passed on the watch, but picked up a few hats:)

I was 17, it was in Jasper ( a little ski village high up in the Rocky Mountains ) and all we did all day was, well, use your imagination...

Didn't they already make a movie about that?
