  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Time Tank... 2 years later

Interesting...you shot this almost 2 weeks ago???? (watch says 21...assuming that's Feb. 21). I wonder what other goodies you have in store for us.

You assumed wrong..

There is something important about the date and time set on the watch....not from the future, but the past.

:)

You must really hate your job Jarred. You're barely putting in 16 hour days. You're a slacker. As someone who is concerned for your future, I'd suggest that you consider a career change - perhaps accounting or a Starbucks Barista. Just a suggestion. :)

Nick.

But Accounting? man that really hurt :w00t:

Barack Obama's Inauguration. Do I win a prize???

The prez was inaugurated on January 20th, not the 21st, and at noon no less, not a quarter till 1. But yeah, I have no idea what the 21st means.
Peace,

-Harry

Here's the original shot.

Often watch companies use 8, 18 or 28 for the date as 8 is a chinese lucky no.

The Time Tank (now called Minute Machine) is a superb watch (I have two). It also plays an interesting role in RED history. When a bunch of us first met Jim, we were all interested in his watch, so he passed it round the table for us to see, and feel the engineering. It's titanium, so it's strong, but also look good, and is not too heavy.

Then we used the watch shot for the IBC test footage. I used the frames for this extensively for image processing development. It was a real thrill to see that shot moving on the big IBC screen!

Now the watch is being used for Scarlet development. Quite a little history!

A warning about the watch though... It attracts attention. But it attracts it from other men. I've lost count of the times that other men have asked about the watch.

One of the funniest / scariest was going through security at the airport. The security guard beckons me over. I'm think oh.... what I have done now. What have I packed by mistake. But what he says though is "Nice watch!".
