I have confirmed Fool Control will indeed work as a single frame trigger which is great.

Now I'm discovering despite all of the different MODE options such as REDCODE Burst, internal Timelapse Timer, Frame Trigger, Speed Ramp Mode, Multi-Shot. Motion & Stills - these various options create individual clips that each go into their own folder on the Redmags.

All I want to do is simply manually trigger single frames but have them all play out in the same sequence so that I do not have 1000 individual folders on the REDMAG - so that I can just take my manual single frames and have them playback in one nice playable R3D file. Is there a way to do this?

In recording settings, set your record mode to 'frame trigger', and set the requested frames to zero before, zero after.

Then assign a key or GPIO input to the value 'record:mark frame' (by default this is mapped to the star on a dsmc2 side handle)

Then when you roll camera it will take an initial frame, then go into a standby mode waiting to record a new frame each time you press your assigned trigger button. They are appended to a single R3D file until you press the record button again to close the clip.

As RU is lacking a cute smiley heart button, I just want to say thanks for the good info.
