I am currently shooting a bunch of 4K footage that will need to be graded starting the first week of February. I own Davinci 9 and a real nice Mac work station in San Diego. Would like to either have an Colorist come to my place of biz or meet with an LA based pro to discuss the project the get 'er done.

Anyone know a guy who knows a guy?

You might consider Jake Blackstone. Since you have Resolve 9 he can do a remote grading session with you so you don't have to leave and can watch him grade live through your system. Send him a line and see if that is an option for you. Might make things a whole lot easier for you. Plus he's in LA.

Holy Crap! Didn't consider the remote option. Great tip!!

Funny this little world of our. ProTools 10HD allows a remote Engineering / Producing session to be done where the Musicians can be in a London studio and the production team in San Diego. Complete with real time talk-back etc. The engineer is controlling the London session as he would if he was there. Amazing how small the world is getting. Only thing that matters real soon is talent
Cheers!

haha yeah tech is crazy.

Jake is a talented colorist and works on high profile gigs down to low/no budget so definitely shoot him a message.

What about Pual Herrin? he does quite a nice job!

Hey Johnny,
I'm shooting in Palau - any tips on color grading scuba footage? It seems a black art at times. Your body of work suggest you are a Jedi Master of all things captured below the water line.
