I really like their old 16mm lenses. Sharp but with plenty of character. I have no idea what these will look like, but someone with pull should call up immediately and tell them to take the words VIDEO off the product name and off the barrel...

Here is a video from a year ago. Not sure if these are one in the same, but the Cine Xenar are not internal focus unfortunately.

The Video Xenon look to be Canon or Nikon mount only - no PL - so aimed at the DSLR crowd.
While the Cine Xenars are PL mount, and "real" cine lenses.
If the video lenses are a lot cheaper than the cine lenses, they could be interesting.

Or maybe they are aimed at Epic users who have the Canon mount or Scarlet users or C500, C300, C100, BMC...

Happy tears come to my eyes for a 75mm FF lens. Finally. I'd be happier if it was closer to T1.5. Biotars are too rare and the optics are too dated for my tastes. If they flesh out this line with an 18mm and 32/35mm that would be great. A 100/135mm would also be really nice. I really want to see a price on these, but the Zeiss CP.2s just got some competition for sure. Hope optically they stand up and have some character as well. I always route for Schneider.

From what I've heard, the new III series are internal focusing. But I'm surprised I haven't heard more people talking about this, as in the past we heard a lot of rave reviews of the schneiders with the big caveat being everyone hated the non-internal focus mechanism (and rightfully so). Seems like Schneider wised up and solved that issue, giving us another really solid mid-range prime option.

Yeah, there is a gap. Looking forward to giving CP.2's a little competition.
Let's see what Zeiss has up it's sleeves with the high pixel count lenses too.

This is welcome news though, as Canon just doesn't seem to want to step up to the plate completely.

Phill Holland did a quick test with these yesterday. Hopefully he can share some results.

Yes that would be great.
One question that comes to mind too is if the mounts are interchangeable.
The other question is if there is any play in the EF mounting on the camera. This is one of the crummy aspects of the CP.2's. Too much play.

Yes different mounts are available including PL. With play, that's why PL is king!

My Leitax mounts don't have any play. At all. Why should the CP.2's, whose EF mounts cost a heck of a lot more?
(four times as much in fact)

I also know that different mounts are available, but my question is, are they interchangeable?
