EASY SKY REPLACEMENT in Davinci Resolve 17

by Video Editor Studio

I hope this is the right place to post this, if not, moderator feel free to move. SideshowFX just launched a Streamdeck plugin to control audio in Resolve. It's pretty cool, allows pan, level, solo, mute, arm tracks. I have no affiliation with sideshowfX. Here's a link to a description...https://youtu.be/ZPx7cwyxYeY

Panasonic S1- Buckhead Night using ACES 1.3

By
Scott Warren

"Wanted to take the new Gamut Compression feature of ACES 1.3 for a spin in the new Resolve update. It works pretty darn well! To my eye, this footage looks exactly as the skyline does in person. It only seems to wrangle the most extreme portion of the gamut that wants to oversaturate, leaving the rest of the color intact. It also doesn't hue shift the whole scene like the old LMT Neon fix did, which is great. Capture wise, used the Panasonic S1 in APS-C crop mode to get a FoV of a 156mm lens, DCI 4K, 10bit 4:2:2 V-Log 24fps with a Zeiss Milvus 100mm F2 Makro lens between F2.2 and F3.5. ISO 4000 to 6400. White balance was at 4000K and no color grading done beyond pulling exposure down a bit here and there and sharpening for output. Clean and simple!

Question for the Resolve community: I loaded Mac OS Monterey yesterday and found that Resolve 17.4 will start to load and then it simply disappears.

Anybody else having trouble with Monterey? Anybody found a way to use Resolve under Monterey or do we get to wait for BlackMagic to issue a version that is compatible?

For reasons that are not understood Resolve began working while I was on the telephone with Blackmagic support. Why it would not launch for 2 days (numerous tries, reboots, etc.) and then it became 'alive' is a mystery to me but the bottom line is - it works fine at this moment.
