  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

The Wonders of the Human Eye- 576 MEGAPIXELS!

The interesting thing about the human eye is that at any point in time it's only resolving at that very high angular rate in a small cone where the eyes are pointed. It's one of the big future opportunities for photo-realistic computer interfaces that once we can accurately track the eye at rates fast enough to be invisible to the brain... we'll be able to create full field of vision displays with apparent resolution at the human detection limit by rendering only as much detail as needed based on where the eye is pointed. GPU's today could probably manage the rendering task. I'll be interested in seeing what a second viewer will see, a spot of high resolution image jumping around the screen surrounded by some crazy looking 'human perception' optimized lower quality data (emphasis on edges, less texture data, less chromatic data, less spatial data as you move farther away from the observer pointing angle).
