  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I have tried to find answers elsewhere but I think this community is better at being helpful.
I have tried to apply the warp stabilizer to a number of files in After Effects. R3D, Mp4, Animation, Uncompressed, 7D files, AVI files etc. and all of them have worked for a while in the beginning then it never goes beyond 22-32 frames before showing an error: "Unable to acquire rendered frame". It then just stops. If I shorten it so it isn't longer then 20 frames it works, but never beyond that.

What seems to be the problem here? Is there some privileges that needs to be reset or something? The files are from so many different sources that I don't think there's a problem with the files or codec, this must be an error in After Effects.

Any ideas? My system is a Sandy Bridge i7 3,7 Ghz, 16 gb ram, Geforce GTX580 3Gb, Primary drive: SSD. Win 7 pro

No, when you apply the effect to a clip it starts to analyze the image to stabilize it. This is not about rendering out from AE, but applying the effect and make it stabilize the image.

Try the Adobe forums for help with this.

I have been using Warp without problems since it came out.

What are your memory settings from within AE? It's recommended you set aside 2GB per thread. I would up your RAM cache and max out the settings to see if you can make your RAM preview longer.

It does not have to do with the RAM preview. Have you used warp stabilizer? This is about when it's analyzing in background. I have tried setting 8 cores of 1,5 GB and 2 GB to 5 cores, but nothing help this.
Sometimes the error message is gone, but the analyzer keeps dropping out of it's process without AE saying anything. After a few tries I can get it working, but I need to watch it because it may drop out at any moment.

I have no idea what the problem is, everything else in AE works fine, no memory problems at all. Just this.

I have looked there and there is a thread with the exact same problem, no one has answered with a solution.

Because no one else is having the problem. It sounds like you have corrupted RAM sims, or heat distribution issues inside your box.

Have you tried changing the advanced settings for the amount of look ahead that the warp stabilizer does, I haven't got after effects in front of me but from memory there is a slider that varies the amount of looking ahead and back that the edge creation renderer tries. try reducing this to see if this helps.

I have seen threads with this problem over at Adobe forums, but I think we are too few to make it an "offical bug". I just changed from corrupted memory modules, so I doubt that these are also corrupted.
As for heat, I do a lot more that produce more heat then this does and my water cooling/typhoon air flow works great with that.

There are no such slider under advance tab, I believe you are thinking about rotobrush.

I'm assuming we're talking about the Warp stabilizer in AE CS5.5 although I'm on a Mac there is a slider under the advanced tab called Synthesis Input range which is available when you select the stabilize synthesize edges option, this is the slider that you could try reducing, also you could try the stabilize crop option without the synthesize edges.

As mentioned it has nothing to do with the stabilization part, this happens during the analyze phase, which has nothing to do with synthesize edges.
