  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I think i get a headech of this drunken thread. Its hard to find digest all info spread over 541 pages. I have not put in any deposit but have an epic mx. I have no clue if there is a trade in program for mx or if its purely a discount on epic mx to w? Im not tradeing in my beloved mx. So then a deposit on a scarlet w? And then change that to a deposit on epic w instead? Perhaps im abit slow now with tight deadlines and two kids (youngest 5 weeks) taking alot of my focus. If you got an answer on this question send me apm. I cant get a hold of my bomb squad and i think my question will be burid in 20 pages soon.

Would be great to have this info before doing any decisions.

Servers are only actively working when returning requests...my guess is that with a user base this size they have the database(s) running on their own box or boxes which allows for more simultaneous requests. I've seen some news type of websites with this setup handle more than 600 simultaneous request per second during large events and have never seen reduser.net slow down...so their infrastructure may be beefier..

Call your Bomb Squad rep. I've been told that for switchers from Scarlet-W to Epic-W, everything is still going to be based off timestamps...so if you need to go to the gym, don't worry. My rep knows better than to make any promises, or give more information than is available, but I still learned some interesting stuff from the call.
 
Can someone explain what recording options you lose (if any) if you only have standard mini mags and not the high speed ones in the epic - w? Trying to figure out what the extra 75 MB/s gets you.

You also get nice shiny RED instead of black color.

If you're gonna go 8K you probably would want the 512gb and 1tb cards anyway since the material is gonna eat up disk space.
