  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

As soon as I have my Epic-W we need to meet to test and discuss our shoot at Geneva Airport.

Red UK said that timestamps on Scarlet-W deposits would be honored and as long you contact them once the announcement is live your place will be held regardless if they are at work or not. But I kind of got the impression if it goes nuts they might be there. So if you have a Scarlet-W deposit down from way back then you will be in a good position, so no need to panic click.

Also CVP in the UK will have a limited number of stock if you are desperate and want to pay for it.

Probably everyone is recovering energies back at Red in preparation for the pandora box opening... It does feel as exciting as when I ordered the Epic!

As a probable Epic W owner, is there a chance we might upgrade later to the Weapon Helium, or to Weapon Helium spec or sensor keeping our very cool looking Black bodied Epic W?

Ultimately I think many of us would love to get there, but due to many diverse circumstances cannot... Would be great to know that will be possible- even if it takes a few years!

I have big, big plans for this upgrade... Man, 5 years using Red, 5 years have these cameras and company helped me make a difference here. In many aspects.

As an independent filmmaker, audiovisual content creator, someone in this small place in this side of the World, where the perceived value of audiovisual work is measured by, unfortunately, ignorance, what our images and work ends up worth is not measured by how much income we end up having.

But as a filmmaker, audiovisual creative, and I hate this word, but, heck, why not, "artist", our cameras are our brushes, and the better they are, the more they can do on different canvases. The liberating fact of a Red camera is that it just makes you say "there are no excuses". It happened with the MX Epic, With the EPIC Dragon. And now, its time to jump on at Weapon. What will this new brush make me create? Definitely work that will keep on pushing the boundaries over here, I hope!

The pandora box opens in less than 8 hours! :)

U.S. is awake! I've been editing since 5am here (2am RED time) trying to finish 3 short projects by 10am RED time so that I can concentrate on the important multitasking of the day - refresh and redial!

Does anyone know if there's also DNxHD / DNxHR on Epic-W? Not sure this has been discussed before but If I had to guess I'd say it's there.
I'm editing on Windows/PremierePro and Apple doesn't update Quicktime anymore. Oh and by the way, what you guys thinking of GoPro Cineform?
