  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I'm getting ready to order and wondered when Jarred mentions going through a rep---does that mean I need to go through an authorized dealer to order Red cameras or can I order directly through the Red store? Does rep mean a Red rep or an authorized dealer I guess I'm asking. Tks.

i will man, I am gonna try and make it available for 400 users. prob overkill but better than people not being able to log in. figure it would be fun to chat with some of you guys
 
RED has already closed the upgrade-path to WeaponMG. If you have not already shipped the camera to RED, its maybe too late to do this upgrade...

I think there was a comment that some of these cameras sent in would be used for Reducation as they are currently short.

Always good to check with a Bomb Squad rep if there is any question at all, but for most straightforward situations you can just place your order and pay your deposit in your account at RED.com.

I couldn't find where it was (sorry big thread hehe) but I'm pretty sure that it was said that those who buy direct (paying the 30k price) will be getting first. Then I believe it's Scarlet-W folks, followed by the others by time stamp.

lets assume I already shipped it...do I want to get the camera upgraded to Weapon MG or hold off?
Ultimately I want to go to 8k...so am I better off upgrading twice or waiting and going directly to 8k.

If I get it upgraded now I get almost $5000 in accessories...some I don't use though.
 
As has been discussed here, a bulk of the traded-in cameras are used for military and educational customers.... however....

The whole point of the Oct 11th E-W deal is to make it up to S-W depositors who have been waiting a long time.

Which is awesome.

As a S-W depositor, I'm actually not interested in the E-W upgrade. I don't have the extra $10k, I don't really want to shoot at 7K to get S35 FOV, etc etc.

But what I would be interested in would be one of the S-Ws that gets turned in for the E-W swap. If it's inspected and warrantied as if new, I'd be totally happy to pay up to (or close to) the full price I was expecting to pay for a new camera, especially if it means it got into my hands quicker.

Is there any way some proportion of the turn-ins could be offered to S-W depositors who are still waiting for cameras, but who don't want to go the E-W route?

Everyone's a winner - the S-W queue gets slashed even further, I get my camera sooner and potentially at a discount and the E-W folks get their deal too. The only folks who lose out are the military and education customers but who cares about them? :)


And if the answer is no, that's totally cool and understandable and I won't feel at all hard done by not to be taking advantage of the insanely generous E-W offer.

2. $5000 credit for more accessories (if you paid the upgrade in time)
3. you are eligible to upgrade to Weapon Helium for $15000

If you upgrade from Epic Dragon to Weapon Helium you pay $34,500
I dont know the price from Epic-X to Weapon Helium...

Just cannot predict, honestly. Like I said, we have a firm end date already settled. But, depending on volume, that could be accelerated by a lot…

Well, Jarred has already stated that people without cameras (eg, SCARLET-W deposit holders) will be first in line from those with already with cameras (eg, SCARLET-W owners).

Greg, they were probably more giving you the courtesy that program ends on Oct 11. But, in reality, if your camera is not already here, it won’t be done in time so you are more looking at the offers to move from EPIC DRAGON to EPIC-W or WEAPON HELIUM that will hit on Oct 11.

Thanks, this is exactly what needed. Sorry to be clear, mine is an Epic-X Dragon. Im going to get it upgraded to Weapon MG.

What is S-W?

In other words: When my camera is at RED since a few weeks for the upgrade, I have a good chance to get it back before Oct 11... :-)
