  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Josh and Terry, just a quick note before we jump into our day of meetings...

Remember, as Jarred stated, the whole genesis of this program was how to address - and say "sorry and thanks for your patience" to the SCARLET-W deposit holders. These are people who don't have a camera right now, and - without offloading some demand from our SCARLET-W line to EPIC-W line - who would be in for a long haul.

From there, Jarred really wanted to give one last lifeline to the M-X folks (and even RED ONE MYSTERIUM) to jump to DSMC2 line of cameras. Trust me, if you want to move forward with upgrade paths after this Oct 11 round, you darn well better be in a DSMC2 camera. Cannot comment on what future offers might, or might not, be out there for each class of DSMC2 camera, of course, but come Oct 11, both DSMC1 and DSMC2 folks will have a chance to move up in weight class. Remember, even RAVEN just squeaked into the Oct 11 fold as you have always had opportunity to get into SCARLET-W....

If you have an eligible camera for an offer that currently exists, and you are pondering executing that, do it before Oct 11. As you can see, WEAPON Mg new cameras and upgrades are already off the table...

Come Oct 11, if you like the deal offered, again, jump on it. If we get huge swings in volume from one line of cameras to another (say, SCARLET-W to EPIC-W), we reserve the right to cut of any/all of the upgrades before our internally decided time. The demand will dictate it.

Lastly, please, do not make this a comparison game. "The guy who just ordered a SCARLET-W is getting a better deal than me" or whatever. Look at which path pertains to you and, to be frank, don't look a gift horse in the mouth. We are making it very clear that if this forum turns from a "half full" to "half empty" fest, we will shake our heads a little and pull the plug.

So, strap on your helmets and enjoy the ride on this one, folks.
 
My glass is so full right now :-) Can'wait to trade in my old beauty for something diffrent. Thanks for thinking about us. That's all I have to say till the 11th.

Thanks for the recap, Brent. I'm very happy where I'm sitting right now, I was just trying to look out for my pals in other situations. Only 6 days left!
 
I just keep refilling my whiskey glass, so yeah, more than half full... No worries!

PS - Even though this is my second drinking post in a row, it's all in jest. I actually don't drink alcohol. Definitely drunk on Red though. Anxiously waiting for the 11th!
 
Darn, I'm kinda tied to the Epic Dragon for an ongoing project.

Brent, you're giving me a headache and I have a horrid cold so a whiskey fix is not an option ; )

It's a good headache though.

But with another £ crash on Monday due to Brexit announcements, it puts the pressure on to make a sound financial business decision.

Hey Brent - As always, you guys are the best. The truth is I can't think of a word that is accurate enough - awesome just falls short.

Thanks for taking all the care to keep everyone up to date. I jumped on the last minute Scarlet-X to Scarlet Dragon last year just before NAB (2015) because you guys promised it would be worth it. I am totally in love with the Dragon sensor but obviously wanted to move up to a DSMC2 body so I could stay on "the path." Of course, you guys never hold still very long so before I could even jump on my Scarlet-W package deal, you come along and entice us with a new sensor as well.

So, yes, I appreciate very much the ability to stay current and do so at a favorable price structure. For a few reasons, the last year hasn't been that active for me so the decision to upgrade is not an easy one. Yet, it does seem like the right one in the long run. So, my thanks are especially heartfelt as this is definitely something of "lifeline" for me in more ways than one.

This has been the very best adventure since I first started shooting my friend's RED ONE more than 6 years ago. My sincere thanks to you guys for everything you do and the way you do it.

That is the make-or-break question for me. I'm an Epic MX owner, if the W cost is the rumored $17k-$19k -and- a camera trade-in, the offer is not compelling. If we keep our old cams then the deal works for me.

You could pre-order the Scarlet-W (now) then upgrade it to the Epic-W on the 11th. This is a loophole Jarred has left in.

I'm Epic Dragon - DSMC1 and old 1.8 SSD :) - so I've been looking at all options on the table... if it was upgrade at 15K and keep the old body, I could 'maybe' afford it... but I think (sadly) I'm priced out of the game now.

But, RED are doing a good job with offers and also moving things on with DSMC2 :)

Yup, Brexit has thrown a lot of stuff out for me too - simply on the weakness of sterling :(

Like I said above, tried to make the numbers fit... but I can't see a way (for me) to move on this.

Oh well... maybe time to sell some lenses and raise some money... wonder what Super Baltars in BNCR go for now... LOL

Cheers on that reply Brent. Well said and point taken! Any chance you could give us a time frame in which the RELEASE THE KRAKEN moment will happen on the 11th? :)

Has to be before. The deposit is refundable, so other than the temporary relatively small draw on your card, it's a very low risk transaction. Anyone pondering jumping onto RED should be putting that $1K in ASAP.

I think you have to pay for the Scarlet-W before the 11th? Check with your Bomb Squad Rep to be sure. That's what I'm going to do. I don't want to take the p*ss as its already a good deal!

I don't believe this is accurate. You only have to place the deposit.
