  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

FWIW, I think there are probably plenty of people not "going against the spirit of the deal" and I applaud those people.

If you want to take advantage by putting down the S-W deposit now just so you can get the E-W cheaper, and you're okay with that, then you go with your bad self.

But respect to those that don't.

I think you mis-understood completely, even Jarred said he's ok with that.

Especially since who is putting down a deposit for Scarlet-W now, will have to wait a LOOOOOOOONG TIME before getting their hands on one...

BTW...RED is usually on the side of the indie guys, who usually struggle the most. I think that's why in the DSMC1/MX trade in they value all the cameras the same...

Haven't heard much about the pecking order between RAVEN and Scarlet W camera owners upgrading to Epic W. Anything revealed yet?

Time stamp. They're treated the same since they've both been waiting. Scarlet w people just have advantage of drunk finance plan and Raven people don't. They have the sober finance plan. It was on page 306 or something

Seriously, I hope you are joking. (I honestly can't tell.) There is nothing nefarious here if you have been following. Jarred has said a whole lot more about it than just that quote Mikael pointed out and it doesn't seem to bother him, as far as I can tell. He acknowledged that it creates an opportunity to get into DSMC2 at a good deal while also letting RED even out the queue for Scarlet-W and sell more cameras. I have been posting very clearly my approach and have gotten no negative feedback.

As for respecting "those that don't" I dare say there aren't many people here who will purposely wait until after 10/11 and then place an order for Epic-W - just so they can spend an extra $10K - unless they are doing it to get to the front of the line. Looks like you are fairly new to the RED ecosystem so maybe you aren't too familiar with how REDuser works with information dissemination. Sometimes its a matter of keeping you ear close to the ground.

My understanding is that Raven guys have to move up to Scarlet-W before 10/11 but it isn't clear to me whether their time stamp flows all the way through to Epic-W upgrade.
 
do wonder, if they bought back the Scaret-D cameras, could they use those Sensors for Scarlet-W upgrades, never-the-less Weapons

I believe Brent clarified they added the Raven-to-EpicW upgrade as an option to eliminate the middle step of switching to Scarlet-W. As much as I'd love to sneak ahead of the Raven guys, they've also been waiting a long time. I assume it's all based on original timestamps.
 
Its fine guys... we break the rules every day. It's how we get ahead and I wouldn't expect anything less from you all.

I know it's hard to comprehend but the majority of our customers don't even know what REDUSER is.. and there are a lot of people that do know but they don't pay attention to the banter because it drives them bat-shit crazy.

So this "opportunity" or "loophole" or whatever you call it is just for those that haven't given up after 300 pages and continue to pay attention.

Just don't be going out and taking out billboards advertising the fact :)

For the majority of the people, they wont even know what happened until after the 11th when it will be too late anyways.

It's their loss... Far more fun to follow these threads than Facebook drama. At least here most are all crazy in a good way, and for similar reasons.

Thanx, I'm almost up to speed now.

One thing I'm still unclear on is the timestamp thing.

That is, I have my RAVEN in hand, so if I want to upgrade it to Epic Helium do I need to get in line on OCT 11 or will I be allocated based on original time stamp?

After unfilled orders are fulfilled, of course.
